Black-Owned Brands You Can Support 365
Black-owned businesses are on fire and they aren’t cooling down anytime soon.
While the increase in the number of LLCs is a far cry from the 400% that was falsely reported in 2018, numerous Black folks have become entrepreneurs over the past decade. If you are looking to diversify the ways you support Black-owned businesses or simply looking to support more of them, I’ve compelled a list of brands, spotlighting a few products you can incorporate into your daily life.
Movita Organics
Movita Organics was founded by Tonya Lewis Lee, a Netflix television series producer and spouse of famous movie director Spike Lee. Tonya’s mission for Movita is to, “help women gain a baseline of good nutrition and practice of positive choices that support a lifestyle of well-being.” The ‘She’s Gotta Have It’ producer follows a healthy lifestyle herself and has created a brand of vitamins that measures up to the expectations of many of today’s consumers as well as her own. Movita Organics’ vitamins said to be natural, vegan, non-GMO, gluten and allergy-free and can be taken on an empty stomach.
Before incorporating vitamins that belong to this company or others, I suggest consulting with a trusted and qualified medical professional.

Browndages
Browndages has created ‘The Perfect Bandage for Brown Skin’. A small, family-owned company in Columbus, Ohio, Browndages was created with darker skin tones in mind. Trust me when I say, it was long overdue. Black people have worn various shades of beige bandages for far too long. Now thanks to Browndages, the range of shades catering to those of darker skin complexion, Black people can now cover our cuts and scrapes discreetly. It’s just one of those little things in life that make us so appreciative.

Pur-Home Clean
Launched in 2017, Pur-Home Clean is a non-toxic household cleaning company. The products that they offer consist of laundry detergent, multi-purpose cleaner, and multi-surface scrub for bathrooms, kitchens and multiple areas in the home. This company give consumers to option to buy retail or wholesale; the brand also offers fans and “influencers” the opportunity to become an affiliate and earn a small percentage.
Give this brand a try. I’m pretty sure Founders Angela and Michelle Richardson can help you complete your chores with just three products.

Brass Cuisine
Black people love to cook and have gatherings. We also love the process of endless hours spent in the kitchen stirring, frying or baking all to ensure that our creations are seasoned to perfection. Fortunately, the Black-owned seasoning company Brass Cuisine knows this all too well. This brand offers customers spice and everything nice to sprinkle and dash their food with uniquely blended flavors of savory and spicy
Black cuisine is an art form - it represents Black culture and tradition, so to have a company created by people that look like us and can trust is an added bonus. Brass Cuisine spice blends help to harness the authentic taste of home-cooked (and restaurant prepared) dishes of chicken, beef, and seafood - meals once crafted by our ancestors. With only a few choices at the moment, we hope, choose from Brass Cuisine Cajun Crawfish, Crab & Shrimp Boil, Southern Fish Fry, of course, Chicken or Beef Seasoning.

The products featured above are ones that frequently make our grocery list. The enormous amount of money we spend on other brands can be invested in these and many other Black-owned companies which means more money being put back into our community. Just think about it. If we make a conscious effort to support one other we financially and systemically strengthen the Black community again.
Many of the businesses featured here can be found on WeBuyBlack.com or can be purchased directly through the business’ websites linked within.
