Your New Obsession? The NEW Skin Glowing Foundation Trick
Have You Seen Danessa Myricks Skin Glowing Foundation Trick? If you have yet to see it then honey, let me tell you. You are seriously missing out on this technique that has changed my makeup game from, ‘I like your foundation’ to ‘Damn girl, your skin is glowing!’.
It’s no secret that our brown skin glows all year round. The sun loves to kiss it and from each angle, there is a hint of radiance and illumination. But now that our days of sunlight have shortened, the sun doesn’t get to kiss it as often as we would like. Don’t stress though, there are many of ways that you can still get that glow with using a few products in your foundation routine.
Step 1. Skin Prep
Skin prep is key. If you are washing your face with simple soap and water that’s cool but your inner glow is begging to come out so step it up a bit. Step it up with either an exfoliating cleanser or use the DIY facial scrub of brown sugar and lemon that I shared with you in this —> post. Another option for a skin glowing effect is to apply your normal cleanser to your face and use a cleansing brush. When using a more skin penetrating cleansing method such as the cleansing brush - you are able to clear dead skin and dirt off the surface and make room for your natural oils.
Step 2. Face Serum and Primer
Apply a face serum and a primer. I personally love face serums because they are able to immediately treat an issue that we are trying to resolve within a matter of weeks. So for a serum, I would recommend that you use one that firms the skin and also one that adds collagen to the skin. Or you can do a 2-1 with the e.l.f. Cosmetics Poreless Putty Primer that contains squalene. Squalane helps contain moisture which we need during the dry seasons of Fall and Winter and it also helps to make the skin appear more vibrant and healthy.
We want vibrancy for the skin glowing foundation trip.
Step 3. Liquid Illuminator
Apply a liquid illuminator to the skin using either Danessa Myricks Beauty Illuminating Veil, Delali Robinson Cosmetics Liquid Illuminator or Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Illuminator. I for one apply these types of illuminators in an inverted triangle by swiping it above the eyebrows, down the bridge of the nose, on the higher points of the cheekbones, above the cupid’s bow and in the center of the chin. By doing this you will create a nice yet thin visible “veil” of illumination.
Step 4. Foundation Application
Apply foundation with a foundation brush to the perimeter of the face which will be outside of the inverted triangle. After you have done that, then start to blend out the illuminator with the same foundation brush into the foundation. After you blend it out then I suggest taking a beauty blender or sponge to give a flawless finish. Once you have done that then add concealer under the eyes with a fluffy blending brush and then finish off with a light layer of powder. Once you have completed this you can either set your makeup with setting spray or continue with your normal makeup application.
This skin glowing foundation trick does wonder for upping your makeup game. Not only will your skin glow as it did during the Summer, but it will illuminate and give off such a beautiful glow that complements will not stop flowing in.
