Summer Isn't Over Yet. You Still Have Time To Do The Big Chop
July, the hottest month of the year, is over BUT don’t go giving up on your most MEMORABLE summer!
It’s been 2 beautiful complete months of summer and you’ve looked flipped through a few magazines long enough to droll over those short yet defined curls on some woman’s head. Then there are those short and straight hairstyles with a pop of pink, blue or green that you have not been bold enough to try. You then start to visualize yourself sitting in a barber or hairstylist chair letting a clipper blade run across your head. The clipper guard touches your scalp slightly and your hair starts to fall to the floor. At first you panic and then you start to calm down. You exhale and say to yourself, ‘Bih, you still have 1 more month to do rock the the hell out of this short cut. Besides, some of your favorite celebs are revealing their newly shaved heads and look FABULOUS. Don’t worry, you can too.’ 20 minutes later, the hair is gone and you are ready for the next part. Straight stuntin! Get your new dresses, shoes and makeup on because it’s now your time.
Here are 4 different short hairstyles you can still try before the sun starts to hide like you did when oh dude tried to cuff you.
Tapered With Bouncy Blonde Spirals
This cut says it all within a matter of words. It is still curly and tapered on the sides and backs. The sideburns are still long enough to continue emphasizing the curls. The top is so long yet curly and the yellow/blond highlights really define her spirals. This is a great go to hair cut for those who are not completely ready to take the clippers to the entire hair.
Tomboy Hair Goals
This cute is for someone who isn’t afraid to think outside the box nor be trapped in the box of society norms when it comes to assigning gender. Her haircut is a clipper cut that a lot of barbers do to their clients who have the type of jobs that allow them to be creative and let their talents stand out or for those who work for themselves. I love this cute because there is a small amount of design and a small amount of product that is used to enhance the wave pattern.
The Bold and The Beautiful
Now this is the type of cut that requires a bold personality and an ‘I run this’ type of attitude. As you can see, well I can see because I was a barber for 9 years, this is a one length hair cut with a light lining to around the edges to create softness around the hairline. The softness is well emphasized by the hair color that also screams “look at me”. This type of haircut is totally summer appropriate but if you try it be sure to use shampoos and conditions that prolong the vibrancy of the hair color. The last thing you would want is a brassy or muddy looking hair color with such a cute hair length.
Classic Type of ‘The Big Chop’
This is classic because there is not much to it. Like the other short cut that was done with a clippers, this one will not involve any coloring of the hair and no soft lining around the edges of the hair line. Another thing that is simple about this cut is the ability to wear a side part on either side of the head. BTW, the best way to determine your side part is doing an invisible drawing from the highest part of your eyebrow to your hair and then starting the part from there. Classic.
You see ladies, July was a hot girl summer but August is going to be the glow-up finale.
These are the short cuts you can try before the “I miss my hair. I shouldn’t have cut (all 5 inches of ) it off” season begins AGAIN because honey, you still have time to do the big chop.
