Black Women Should Empower Each Other: Ways To Help Kickstart Your Empowerment And Inspire Others
The topics of feminism, women empowerment, and equality rotate subconsciously in people's mind.
However, as women, we sometimes make premature judgments of other women too fast. Therefore, we act on this by treating them the way we have judged them.
There is so much positivity right now towards women rights and empowerment. We speak up, stand up, and demand our place, but we need to do so while empowering other women. There are certain types of conversations we should be having in our society such as on topics of abortion and equal pay. Women need to be on the same page and come in with open ears and a different perspective, so not only we can learn but make an impact.
As women, we know we have it tough, that’s a no brainer.
However, we're living in a world where women are still being assaulted, abused, discriminated, raped, murdered, and wholly mistreated. While simultaneously being told you're not pretty enough or smart enough, or simply just not good enough. We shouldn’t make the path any harder on ourselves and give women another challenge to face. Women already bleed once a month, go through pregnancy and crazy hormones. What more do we need to endure?
There is way too much negativity and not enough positivity. Learn from our past mistakes and use words to uplift each other. It doesn't bring anyone joy being negative. It is normal to feel jealous to want things other women have, but instead of shaming her, lift her up and give her a compliment. Compliment her hair, her makeup, outfit, shoes, accessories, personality, etc.!
We can't grow into the woman we want to be if we're tearing each other down. We need to get rid of the gossiping and pettiness to create a positive path for all women.
As women, we understand the struggle of other women. Therefore, we need to remain on the same team and always be that supportive element. We need to have a foundation of women who will be there to help each other succeed. We stand united, leading by example, and encouraging one another to overcome any challenge we may face, together.
Remember, we are all women.
We're all unique in our own way. We have the power to change the world.
Here are some ways to start empowering and inspiring women around you:
1. Be Authentic and True To Yourself
With the world around us continually changing, while simultaneously trying to force us all onto the same path, it’s important to remember who you are. You are you. Embrace all of you which encompasses embracing all of your ideas, beauty, strengths, and vibrant spirits! Of course, it's easier said than done, but when it comes to living the version of yourself only you can stop YOU! Allow yourself to sit down on that throne! YASSS QUEEN!
2. Help Others Heal
Lend an opening, non-judgmental ear and listen. We are all on different paths, and sometimes that path is harder for others. We'll face obstacles that we sometimes need support in navigating. By listening and offering time, you can help your friends blossom into their best selves.
3. Focus on the Positive
What's the opposite of negative? POSITIVE! Focusing your mindset on the positive will encourage those around you to do the same. Be happy with who you are now, rather than dwelling on what to change. View all encounters and interactions as ones that promote growth if nothing else. Failure is not a negative, it's a learning experience, therefore making it a positive. Simple as that right? Let your positivity follow you in every step of your journey.
4. Communicate Clearly and Effectively
Communication is vital in everyday life, but obviously, we don't know what someone may be thinking without speaking. "Say what you mean and mean what you say." Don't be afraid to share your ideas and creativity with others. Be confident and tall. Keep eye contact and strut it!
5. Be Enthusiastic
A word I like to associate with enthusiasm is passion. You must be willing to express passion if you want to inspire others. Being genuinely excited and passionate about anything you're applying yourself to can in turn influence those around you. Your enthusiasm should be contagious, getting people to get on board. People should question why you love what you do so much. If it moves you, it can move others.
