Cut Creases! I’m Over It!

Cut Creases! I’m Over It!

Alternative Eyeshadow Looks That Are Just As Stunning.

It goes without saying that the never-ending trend of “cut creases” on every makeup enthusiast’s eyes including the originators, uh umm, Drag Queens honey, is the #1 go-to look. How many times have you looked up the hashtag #makeup and noticed that every 3 posts are a cut crease? The hashtag #cutcrease alone has over 3.2 million posts! OMG! I love it but I AM OVER IT and if you are too, here are a few different eyeshadow styles that you can try that are just as amazing as cut creases.

Eyeliner To Create The Shape

Now, this is the type of look that you can create using all types of eyeliner colors. It is such a matte eyeshadow color all over the lid and then creating the shape with eyeliner to draw attention to the eyes and of course the eyelashes. I love this type of look because although it is about precision lining, it goes to show you that you do not have to cut out a crease to create a crease.

Half Cut Crease

For those who are not fully ready to get over the “cut crease”, try the half cut crease. This style of eyeshadow application only cuts the crease halfway leaving the inner corner to the middle of the eye the center of the attention. This style actually reminds me of a cat-like shape all the while giving the emphasis of a more narrow nose.

This look is a softened version of the cat-eye wing. It is perfect for those who want to create that winged eyeliner look but a smoked-out version of it. I love this type of look because although I love a smokey eyeshadow look for after 7 pm, this look is perfect during the daytime because you will use a kohl eyeliner close to the lash line, smudge it in with a brush and wing out towards the tip of the eyebrow.

I love color when it comes to melanated skin. It’s just something about the way the color hits the skin, it makes it glow even more. Because this looks appears more difficult than it actually is, a person who is just getting into makeup would simply use their base color all over the eye space, pack on the color on the lid then blend it upward until it fades into the base color. I mean if you have no clue what I am talking about then, look up the hashtag #eyeshadowtutorial and you will find the steps for these.

Neutral Soft Glam

There is always a new term for a classic look but this eyeshadow look can be turned up just a notch with full, glamorous lashes or a play on the lower lash line. Soft glam makeup includes neutral tones and shades of eyeshadow that happen to be the same tones and shades you can find on your skin. Normally the way that you would wear this is by applying the darker shade of eyeshadow onto the lids, slightly deepen the crease and then blend it to a lighter shade upwards towards the eyebrows.

Needless to say, there are many eyeshadow looks that you can wear that are not cut creases. Yes, they are trending and the crowd is doing it,l but why try to be a part of the crowd when you can stunt on them with many other looks? Let me know which look you would try and where would you wear it. I’m going for this smoked out eyeliner look. That one is gorgeous!
