Sweater Weather is Here - You Ready?
Whether or not the climate where you are in the States has got the memo, fall is officially here.
At any given moment, we can expect to be slapped in the face with a cold front. Where I live, there is no nice transition into seasons; instead each one bursts through the door and takes over the place. That being the case, I’m often caught outside in the cold without the proper attire to keep warm. But not this year. This year, I vow to be ready for that breezy first day of cool weather, and let someone else do the shivering.
To start, I had to take a look at my closet. Many of the things I own can transition into the winter, with a few layers and a shoe change. But one thing I definitely don’t have enough of is sweaters. And cuddling oneself in layers of knit is one of the best things about the season! I’ve got to get that together. The retail industry, of course, is ready and has already begun to stock its shelves with everything we might need. Let’s take a look at a few great sweater options to keep us cozy - but cool - during the chilly months ahead of us.
Skylar Rose Geo Knit Sweater, ASOS $79
Sizes (6-22)
Tribal prints were a big deal earlier this year during the Fashion Week showcasing looks for this season. The Geo Knit sweater takes notes and puts those elements into an everyday wearable format. I’m loving the deep shades of mustard, forest green and burgundy.
ASOS Design V-Neck w. Tipping $45
Sizes 0-24
This adorable V-neck sweater gives me cheerleader vibes and I’m here for it. I had no interest in being on the squad growing up, but I always love a good pleated skirt and good v-neck. The girls always had sweaters like these in the school colors. Now I can have that look, without having to try out.
Charm School ¾ Sleeve Pullover $40
Sizes XXS- M
The winter and fall months are the darkest of the year, but that doesnt mean we have to be! This yellow flamingo printed pullover is sure to bring a smile and ray of light to every room we walk into. It also comes in some other adorable patterns and fun colors.
Zara Knit Sweater w/ Applique $50
Sizes S-XL
Zara gets on my nerve at times, because they don’t even consider extending their size range, yet they have one of the best selections of one-of-a-kind yet on trend items. This studded sweater is probably the cutest thing I’ve seen this season, with tiny spikes on a sweatshirt like material. Polished, but edgy.
Isolated Heroes True Love Never Dies $88
Sizes XS - 4XL
This True Love Never Dies sweater is great for those nights where you want to look extra cute - maybe for a concert or date night - but you don’t want to sacrifice your warmth. With its showstopping sequin design and classic black material, paired with some thick leggings or a black jeans and booties, you’ll still turn heads and drop jaws.
Polar All-The Time Lace Up Sweater $55
Sizes Small-Large
I have a weird obsession with items that have split colors or prints. This black and white sweater with lacing in the middle is a great example of a sweater that is not stuffy and boring, which is what usually comes to mind when you think of wearing one.
Lulu’s New Possibilities Cable Knit $58
Sizes XS-L
This sweater is the epitome of autumn. Stunning pumpkin color? Check. Cable Knit? Check. Oversized sleeves? Check. What more could we want out of a sweater?’
BooHoo Leopard Knitted Sweater $24
Sizes S-L, 14-20
Leopard is the new polka dot, a classic print for our generation. This pullover from Boohoo comes in five different colors and a wide range of sizes, at a great price. This is one of those pieces that I’d grab when I have five seconds to get ready, because I know it will go with everything.
